As of yesterday, there were still over 200,000 still without power on Long Island as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
The people in the coastal communities of Long Island and Queens, NY were among the hardest hit by Sandy. Now they are suffering new blows because of the difficulty in getting electric power restored quickly.
With a largely above-ground power network exposed to the full fury of Sandy's fierce winds and 14-foot storm surge, more than 90% of LIPA's 1.1 million customers lost their power, the biggest impact on any area power company. The ElecComm underground crews have been deployed to Long Island to help restore power.
ElecComm's core business focus is on the installation, removal and maintenance of overhead and underground electric/communications distribution systems. For information, contact ElecComm.
